Chanel Unveils Brand New Podcast Featuring Conversations With Keira Knightley And Pharrell Williams

LVMH, the parent-group to the world’s biggest brands, from Givenchy to Dior, has announced this year’s LVMH Prize finalists.

The luxury conglomerate annually dishes out two major awards: a top prize of a €300,000 (£269,000) that comes with mentoring from the industry’s leading figures; and the runner-up Karl Lagerfeld Prize, named after the former Fendi and Chanel creative director following his death in 2019.

Previous winners include Grace Wales Bonner and Marine Serre, and last year’s winner, South African designer Thebe Magugu, made history, winning against 1,700 applicants from over 100 countries.

This year’s eight finalists are: Ahluwalia by Priya Ahluwalia, Casablanca by Charaf Tajer, Chopova Lowena by Emma Chopova and Laura Lowena, Nicholas Daley, Peter Do, Sindiso Khumalo, Supriya Lele, and Tomo Koizumi.

Judged by major designers including Loewe designer Jonathan Anderson, Dior’s Maria Grazia Chiuri, and more, the final in Paris is set to be a star-studded affair. More so with the addition of Fenty designer Rihanna to the judging panel.

Gigi Hadid has also shown her support for the short-listed designers, attending the LVMH Prize showroom during Paris Fashion Week. All eyes on the award ceremony on June 5. These are the faces of fashion’s future, after all.
