At one point in the year, the Raiders were sitting at 6-3 and seemed like a lock to make the playoffs. But the second half of the year couldn’t have gone worse for this team. However, they capped off the ugly finish to the season by beating the Broncos in dramatic fashion, winning 32-31 in Denver.

It was a turnover-filled day for the Raiders as they turned the ball over four times. Derek Carr threw two interceptions, one in each half. At one point, the Raiders had three turnovers in five offensive snaps.

The tipping point for the Raiders was allowing a 92-yard touchdown to Jerry Jeudy late in the fourth quarter. That gave the Broncos a 7-point lead with just over seven minutes left. However, the Raiders would answer with 24 seconds left on a Josh Jacobs touchdown. They would go for a two-point conversion, converting it to Darren Waller. That would ultimately give them the 32-31 win over the Broncos.

Injuries were a problem for the Raiders as wide receiver Henry Ruggs III was ruled out with a concussion. Safety Johnathan Abram dealt with a hip injury that caused him to miss time in this game, as well.

It’s also worth mentioning that Waller set the single-season reception record for the Raiders, passing Tim Brown on Sunday. He caught 107 passes this season, nine total in Week 17. He finished the game with 118 receiving yards and one touchdown.

After finishing the season at 8-8, the Raiders will now have gone four full years without making the playoffs. Their last playoff berth came in 2016, when they lost to the Houston Texans in the first round of the playoffs. However, this was their first non-losing season since 2016, so that has to mean something, right?
