We Do Shopping Right

SPARCC presenting hybrid SPARCCle on the Runway fashion show fundraiser

Sarasota Herald-Tribune

The Safe Place and Rape Crisis Center is hosting its popular annual fashion show in a whole new way on March 2.

SPARCCle on the Runway’s “Return to Fashion 2021” combines a fabulous livestream fashion show with online bidding (for the sought-after fashions worn by the models), and a socially distanced, popup shopping boutique at Michael’s on East.

This cutting-edge hybrid fashion show will support the free programs and services SPARCC provides to survivors in our community. Guests will enjoy the livestream fashion show at 11 a.m. from the comfort of their home, and can participate in an online auction for the featured show outfits until 7:30 p.m.

Additionally, the safe and socially distanced, popup fashion boutique – featuring deals on high-end fashion pieces – will take place in the ballroom of Michael’s on East from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and allow guests a more personalized shopping experience.

All proceeds support SPARCC’s free and confidential programs and services for survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

The 2021 SPARCCle on the Runway Presenting Sponsor, Bowtique Med Spa owners Desmond Brivik and Randy Cofield, said: “We are extremely pleased and excited to be part of such a fun and meaningful fundraising event once again. Not only is it worthwhile, it helps SPARCC continue to be a safe place for survivors of domestic violence and their children, 24 hours a day.”

In the 2019-20 fiscal year, SPARCC provided advocacy services and crisis counseling services to 2,667 individuals; offered safe shelter to 183 adults, 98 children and 16 pets; responded to more than 4,382 Helpline Crisis calls; and provided legal services for injunction for protection to 302 individuals.
