An Australian fashion designer says she is the best employer in Australia – because she spoils her staff with designer clothes, fancy dinners out and first-class plane tickets.

Abby Kheir, 42, is the owner and designer of Australian-born brand Abyss by Abby – she is known for her $500k hand bag collection and for dressing Hollywood royalty like Khloe Kardashian.

She told Daily Mail Australia she appreciates the women who work with her and likes to shower them with expensive gifts so they feel appreciated.

‘It’s really important to me that my staff are happy at work and feel valued, included and appreciated,’ she told Daily Mail Australia.

‘I work very closely with them and I respect and admire each one of them immensely.’

She shows her appreciation by sending her staff on spa days, taking them out for lavish dinners and by buying them designer bags or shoes.

‘I gave my personal assistant a big birthday dinner in Los Angeles while on a work trip. After she told me no one has ever celebrated her birthday in her family I wanted her to feel special,’ she revealed.

‘I also gifted her her first designer bag and designer shoes – as well as interstate travel in the US also Cabo, Vegas,’ she said.

‘As long as she is employed by me, I intend to make up for all the birthdays she missed.’

The fashionista said she loves to see her people happy because it makes going to work more fun.

‘When people are happy, they are more creative, more focused, more customer oriented, more innovative,’ she said.

She recently made headlines after revealing she has her eye on a $500,000 two-of-a-kind bag.

‘My shopper is on the hunt now, there’s a time for everything but I am determined to have it,’ Ms Kheir said.

And she wouldn’t be afraid to ‘hold’ the bag, or lend it to either of her two sisters.

Ms Kheir doesn’t have one everyday bag – and like to hold different pieces depending on the occasion.

However her most recent ‘go-to’ is a $15,000 snakeskin bag from Dior.

The designer owns 50 bags in total, worth over $500,000 and says the new Hermes which will double the value of her collection is ‘worth it’ because it will hold its value.

She once flew to London for a Hermes Birkin bag worth $30,000 because she couldn’t find the right colour in Australia.

Ms Kheir turned a small clothing store she opened as a 21-year-old into a multimillion-dollar empire.
