Their sales must be a hit.
Fashion Nova, a women’s clothing company, used the Will Smith and Chris Rock Oscar’s feud to market their latest sale this week.
Announcing a sale via text, their message read, “We SLAPPED 40% Off the ENTIRE site! It’s Time to ROCK New Spring Looks.”
The message was posted to Twitter by Matt Bernstein, who captioned the tweet, “The fashion nova marketing team will stop at nothing.”
The tweet, which has more than 5,000 likes and 300 retweets, shocked users who couldn’t believe the brand “got on that quick.”
Meanwhile, in the replies, other users shared texts and emails from other companies using the celebrity brawl to their marketing advantage.
One person even tweeted a screenshot of a MealPal email they received promptly at 10 a.m. the following day, which featured a customized meme of Smith slapping Rock.
The jokes and memes circulated online immediately following the surprisingly unscripted moment at the Academy Awards on Sunday evening, where Oscar-winner Smith slapped comedian Rock after taking a dig at Jada Pickett Smith’s alopecia.

Bernstein — most known for his social justice advocacy on social media where he’s garnered hundreds of thousands of followers — posted more Smith and Rock jokes throughout the Academy Awards.
He shared screengrabs of Lupita Nyong’o’s reaction to Smith’s outburst and compared the feud to Maddie and Cassie from the hit HBO original “Euphoria.”
