Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Color Lipstick Review

[ad_1]

 Hey Beauty Lovers!

If you are anything like me, you are always searching for the perfect neutral lip.

I tend to gravitate towards neutral and taupe eyeshadows, so nude lips are a must for me. I know, I’m basic AF!

I’m not saying that I don’t love a bold red or hot pink lip, but there is just something special about the neutral lip look that really speaks to me. Maybe it’s because I’m a 90s kid, nude lips were all the rage in the early 2000s. I’m happy to say that the nude lips of the 2020s look a lot better than the skin-colored nude lips of the 2000s.

Last year, I was sent a beautiful Tom Ford lipstick, and I have been wearing it non-stop ever since! It is the perfect nude shade for me and it goes with any eye look. I mostly wore this lipstick while I was still working as a scientist. I had my own fancy office and tried to dress as professionally as possible. This meant no bold lips. I received so many compliments every time I wore this beauty, everyone at the office wanted to know what color was on my lips!

Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Color

I was sent the Tom Ford Ultra Shine Lip Color in the shade Nubile ($58). This shade is described as midtone neutral, and I have to agree. I have light-medium skin, and this shade is literally perfect for me! I read in cosmo once that the perfect nude shade should be the same color as your nipples. I’m not sure if this works for everyone, but boy does this shade look good on me (wink wink).

The packaging is also absolutely stunning. I love the white and gold aesthetic, and it would look amazing on my vanity (if I had one). Let’s be real, my cats would knock over anything I put on a vanity, so it’s not even worth getting one, even if it would look great in my Instagram photos. However, I do love to bring it along with me in my purse. Showing off my luxurious lipstick when I’m out with my friends is honestly the only reason I would spend so much on a single lipstick…

The lipstick itself has a nice weight. It definitely feels like a luxury product, and all the details on the component really add to the appeal of purchasing a Tom Ford lipstick. Cheap packaging is really a deal-breaker for me when it comes to high-end brands. I hate when they charge an arm and a leg for a product and use packaging made for Clair’s makeup.

I do appreciate that this lipstick is super comfortable. I am able to wear it all day without drying out my lips. I’m so happy that the liquid lipstick days are over, my lips may never recover from the abuse. The color also doesn’t settle into the fine lines on my lips. This is very important to me as I enter my mid-thirties, my lips have gotten super wrinkly these last few years (I still blame the liquid lipsticks).

This is not marketed as a long-wearing lipstick and it is definitely not transfer-proof. The staying power of this lipstick is not even close to that of a liquid lipstick. I tend to reapply the lipstick multiple times a day, so it definitely helps that the packaging looks so beautiful. With all that being said, I really do love this color for my skin tone. It’s worth all the reapplications to look this good (see below).

Now that you know how much I love this lipstick, let’s go over some of the details.

Final Thoughts

It’s official, I love this lipstick!

Not only does it look great on my lips, but I am also obsessed with the luxe white and gold packaging. Everything about the lipstick screams luxury and I will probably have to save up some money for Willful shade next. It looks like a beautiful red/coral shade that would look great this summer!

I hope you enjoyed this review. It’s been a hot minute since I wrote a makeup review for the blog, and it was great to get back into my review-writing groove. I hope that I can stick to my schedule this time and write reviews for all the amazing makeup products that I have been trying out for the last year and a half. If I do fall off the blog writing wagon again, you can follow my beauty adventures over on Instagram. I am a lot more consistent there!
